I might be a little nuts, choosing a focus for this month. I might be a little nuts to consider blogging at all. The beginning of the school year is always stressful for this two-teacher household, but this year is going to be so much more of an adjustment. My whole family is telling me to lower my expectations, take care of myself, put my head down and just do what is needed for my “real” job and my family.
But.
I can’t not write.
And I’m really excited about CREATIVITY.
So let’s do this.
It’s really the perfect theme, because I’ll absolutely need to get creative about writing time. I’ll have to carve out 20 minutes here, 10 minutes there, throughout my day. I’ll have to switch gears quickly, and jump right in to the real heart of the writing. Fortunately, working around Edwin’s schedule and changing demands has forced me to do this sort of writing time-toggle for two years now; the addition of a full-time teaching job just amps it up a notch.
Actually, a lot of notches.
But I’m trying not to think about that.
I’m also aiming to make my posts shorter. That’s good for time management and for building my writing skills. And you may find that my definition of “creativity” is a bit, well, creative. I may apply it to the content of my posts, and I may apply it to the structure. I may experiment a bit: trying some writing prompts, working from inspirational quotes, even posting some fiction.
Or I may crash and burn, and you won’t hear from me again until Christmas break.
I set my bar high. Sometimes I fail to reach it. But I’m always going to try.
CREATIVITY!
