Friday Book Review: The Birth Order Book

October 4, 2013 by Leanne Sowul 8 Comments

Several of my favorite bloggers are doing a daily blog series this month. Modern Mrs.Darcy is doing a series on cult classics (more on that later); Carrie Willard is writing about habits. I briefly considered blogging every day this month, but I have too many writing projects on the table right now: an article on infant sleep […]

Just Look Up

October 1, 2013 by Leanne Sowul 1 Comment

My son likes to look up. I don’t mean at me, or other adults, but UP up, to the sky, or the ceiling, or the ceiling fan (which he’s mesmerized by). The other day, I took him out of the car, and he immediately flung his head back and grinned widely at the outstretched branches of […]

September 24, 2013 by Leanne Sowul Leave a Comment

Edwin has his very first cold, and it comes with all the things I, as a pre-parent, once dreaded: wakeful nights, a booger-filled nose, snot wiped all over my clothes, the frown-y face on the ear thermometer. But instead of being as miserable as I’d once predicted, I’m grateful.

Sunday Is Always Fresh, With No Mistakes In It

September 22, 2013 by Leanne Sowul Leave a Comment

I love Sundays. Saturdays are for shirking off work, relaxing or partying, eating junk food, de-stressing from the week. On Saturdays, you get a free pass. But Sunday morning comes, and everything is new again. A new week, a new perspective, a new beginning. A literal clean start: healthier eating, motivation to exercise, cleaning and […]
